Julien started out as a French as a Second Language monitor at Marianopolis College, an experience that transformed his vision of teaching. He then taught there for 10 years, exploring a variety of pedagogical approaches, from Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to the flipped classroom and the integration of technology in the classroom. His interest in innovation also inspired him to create video tutorials and an educational podcast.
Driven by a desire to broaden the scope of his work, Julien then made the leap into pedagogical counselling. In this role, he accompanies the development of programs by participating in their revision and evaluation, while also collaborating in the development of educational policies. His approach is based on experimentation and a concrete understanding of pedagogical realities.
His participation in CP2 is part of this desire to think about college education in all its diversity. Convinced of the importance of collective reflection on the future of CEGEPs, he wishes to contribute to a vision of college education that is both relevant and adapted to the realities of French and English colleges, both urban and regional, offering pre-university or technical programs.
