Description

Intercultural twinning is a teacher-supervised activity that enables peer-to-peer learning. The aim is to practise and improve second language skills, but also to build bridges between students from different backgrounds.
Philippe and Nicholas will present their “twinned” French and English as a second language courses at Vanier and Ahuntsic colleges. They will explain the origins of this project, the theoretical basis, examples of learning activities, the students' point of view and advice on how to embark on such a pedagogical adventure.
Philippe will also present a twinning between nursing students from the Collège de Maisonneuve and their colleagues in Nursing at John Abbott College to illustrate that all programs could benefit greatly from such interlinguistic collaborations.
