Alternative rating practices

NAPs (alternative grading practices) are a range of ways of assessing learning that take better account of the two purposes of assessment: to support learning and to testify to prior learning. In this community of practice, come and meet teachers who have implemented PAN systems in their courses, and share your own innovations in this area.

The CdP-PAN is also an ideal place to find out what NAPs are all about, and how they can contribute to student success, while reconciling the concerns for rigor and support that come with the act of assessment. At the same time, and not least, NAPs make the act of grading more satisfying and useful, and often even faster, which is not to be overlooked!
