First-Session Pedagogy: A Learning Community by Teachers, for Teachers

Do we have time to discuss pedagogy with our colleagues? And with those in other departments? Do we have time to develop innovative tools to meet the specific needs of our students?
At the Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a learning community on first-session pedagogy was launched in Fall 2021. Each session, four or five participants take part in ten workshops led by teachers, and work on a pedagogical project that they are committed to sharing. The meeting of different perspectives supports innovation and creativity, enriches skills, and creates a space for collaboration, networking and belonging.
