This webinar focuses on the immersive virtual reality serious games for learning scientific concepts that we have developed.
One of the priorities of the Digital Action Plan in Education (MEES, 2018) is to develop Quebecers' digital competencies. In response, the MEES presented the Digital Competency Framework (2019). With government funding, the Université du Québec (UQ) has created Odyssée numérique, a serious game launched in 2023, in collaboration with Lucid Tales and university stakeholders. The game aims to raise awareness and support students in developing their digital competency. This webinar first explores the importance of digital competency and the key role of educational stakeholders in the development of this innovative tool. Next, it presents the creative process, mobilizing a multidisciplinary team. Finally, the webinar proposes strategies for supporting students in their digital learning, while promoting the use of serious games as a pedagogical tool.
