Writing, Editing, and Publishing a Textbook
This article explores the educational community’s growing interest in electronic publishing. The author describes how, after realizing that existing textbooks left much to be desired, he self-published materials in order to properly meet course requirements. Illustrating the numerous avenues open to teachers wishing to write and publish an e-book, Gaumont-Guay introduces readers to the tools (software, applications, and distributor) he used to draft and online his publication. He also discusses the many advantages e-books have over their paper counterparts.
