On the subject of renewal... Information sheets for the college milieu

Following the pedagogical renewal in secondary, this article relates the journey taken by a Cégep Limoilou work group to prepare students for the transition to college. Group members made an inventory of teachers’ preoccupations, identified their main themes of interest, returned to the origins of this renewal, met with several interveners at secondary level, and examined numerous ministerial documents in great detail. This resulted in the creation of about twenty information sheets on different subjects such as A short history of the reform (Une petite histoire de la réforme), Structure, connections and the transition from secondary to college, (L'articulation, l'arrimage et la transition secondaire-collégial) as well as Fields of training and programs of study in secondary (Les domaines de formation et les programmes d'études du secondaire). Initially distributed largely within the CEGEP, the information sheets were also used to support animation during meetings with teachers and professionals in the establishment, with program committees and departments. The interest generated by these documents quickly spread beyond the CEGEP doors. After hearing about these information sheets, many other establishments asked to use them and with the help of the Carrefour de la réussite au collégial, they are now online and can be accessed at the following address: http://www.lareussite.info/?cat=74
