Nault, Geneviève

This article presents the development, validation and experimentation of on line instruction within the framework of a master’s thesis in teaching. Its objective: the development of didactic material for the Natural sciences program. In order for students to achieve the targeted competencies “Work in teams to analyze and study one or more natural science subjects using a scientific approach and experimentation” and ”Analyze the information using appropriate technology to process and communicate it in a clear and precise manner”, a decision was made to have the team complete a survey. The authors justified the use of online training and then described its development from conception through to production, distribution, maintenance and adjustment. With the development complete and the resources online, the next steps consisted of expert validation and in-class experimentation. The resulting report presents the data collected and its interpretation. In conclusion, the authors review the benefits of the online experiment and offer recommendations on the process.
