Intercultural Instruction : Promoting Internationalization by Teaching Positive Tolerance
Professor Loewen, who teaches in Vanier College’s Humanities Department, uses intercultural instruction in an effort to educate citizens who demonstrate positive tolerance toward people of diverse origins. The article deals with the internationalization of colleges and the problems involved in teaching in a context of globalization. Education in global citizenship, as researched and presented by the author, can be facilitated, in particular, via the appropriate use of information and communications technologies (ITC), which gives students an opportunity to broaden their world view.
