Applied Research Training at the CÉGEP de Saint-Hyacinthe
Daniel Puche, a teacher-researcher at the CÉGEP de Saint-Hyacinthe, and Marc Leclerc, associate academic director at the same college, share the guidelines they have established to properly prepare students for their CCTT work experience. To ensure that this first encounter with paid research was positive, students’ project-related responsibilities and duties—which are often shared with other industrial “researchers”, especially as regards weekly work meetings, time organization, and the production of artifacts and deliverables—must be managed efficiently. Teamwork and student supervision are both factors that promote the success of such endeavours.
