Student Mobility, Adjustment Challenges, and Academic Achievement
A number of challenges face students who leave the family nest and move to another environment to attend college. Éric Richard and Julie Mareschal wondered what effects such a life-changing decision might have on academic achievement. On the basis of interviews conducted with college students, the authors show that their performance reflects a better “fit” between their choice of program and their aspirations, as well as a perceptible feeling of personal accomplishment. The study also resulted in a guide designed to help migrant students successfully complete their studies.
The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) offers an extensive collection of documents on college-level education and on education in general, produced by professionals in leading facilities and organizations.
