The Realization of Assessments of Support Measures for Success. A Story of Practice
This article presents a report on a practice implemented by Cégep du Vieux Montréal to assess existing support measures over a five-year period. To support teachers who were required to carry out projects in their assessments, each teacher worked in cooperation with an educational advisor. With their help and by using a form and a guidebook, those in charge of projects were able to produce rigorous assessments. The authors define the proposed approach and its impact. They also make certain observations and propose ways for improvement, notably with regard to the isolation of project leaders and the problems faced in assessing measures designed to support students' success. Although based on an assessment conducted within a single establishment, the observations and proposed actions can no doubt be applied to other colleges where similar problems have been observed.
